History

The bridge was built in 1982 - 1984 . as part of the reconstruction of the embankment of the right bank of the Neva from the mouth of the Okhta River to the Alexander Nevsky Bridge . The authors of the project are engineers A. D. Gutzeit, R. R. Shipov and architect V. M. Ivanov [1] . The Mostotryad No. 37 of Mostotrest-6 was the general contractor for the construction [2] . The installation of the span structures was carried out using the Bogatyr-4 floating crane [3] .

The bridge is a three-span metal beam-continuous system. The central span is 65 m long, the side spans are 42.5 m long. The bridge is oblique in plan. The span consists of 4 steel beams with a curved outline of the lower belt and an orthotropic plate. Abutments and intermediate supports made of monolithic reinforced concrete on a pile foundation made of piles-shells are faced with granite. The approaches to the bridge are made in the form of retaining walls lined with granite. The total length of the bridge is 151.2 m, the width of the bridge is 20.3 m [1] .

The bridge is designed for traffic and pedestrians. The carriageway of the bridge includes 4 lanes for the movement of vehicles. Oncoming traffic flows are separated by a metal barrier. The covering of the roadway and sidewalks is asphalt concrete. The sidewalks are separated from the roadway by a high granite parapet. On the upper side of the bridge, staircases to the embankment are arranged. The metal railings, of a simple pattern, are completed on the foundations of granite pedestals.
