Born on June 24, 1947 in the village of Katerinovka, Lozovsky district, Kharkov region . His father was a worker, and his mother worked as a rural teacher [1] [3] [2] .

In 1970 he graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture [1] [3] [2] .

In 1970 he worked as an assistant foreman of the tractor brigade [1] [3] [2] .

From 1971 to 1981 he was the chief engineer and mechanic of the collective farm. S. Ordzhonikidze in the Lozovsky district of Kharkov region [1] [3] [2] .
