Aleksandr Vladimir Golubev (born November 30, 1954 , Kursk ) is a Soviet and Russian historian and writer . Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor. Head of the Center for the Study of Russian Culture at the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences , member of the Union of Writers of Russia .

Biography
In 1976 he graduated from the History Department of the Oryol State Pedagogical Institute , received the specialty of a teacher of history, social studies, and English. In 1978, he entered full-time postgraduate study at the Faculty of History of Moscow State University (Department of USSR History of the Socialist Period).
In 1983-1991 - assistant, senior lecturer, associate professor of the Department of History of the History Department of the Oryol State Pedagogical Institute. In 1985 he defended his thesis “Soviet-English Relations in 1979-1983.” In 1990, he received the title of Associate Professor.
Since February 1991, he has been a senior research fellow at the Institute of History of the USSR, nowadays, at the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and since December 2007, a leading research fellow at the IRI RAS. Since 1998 - Head of the Center for the Study of Domestic Culture, IRI RAS.
Head of the problem group for the study of the history of international cultural relations of Russia, member of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences “History of International Relations and Foreign Policy of Russia”. Author and editor-in-chief of a number of monographs , collective publications and study guides.
His research interests are the political history of Russia, the history of foreign policy, the history of culture , the history of mentality , and imagology .
Since 1994, he has led the scientific seminar “ Russia and the World : A History of Mutual Perception”. Holds “round tables” on this topic annually, is the responsible editor of collective works prepared following the results of the seminar (10 collections of articles, 1996-2017, and a collective monograph, 1998).
In 2004, he published a book of poems and poems “August”, for which in 2006 he was awarded the title of Laureate of the Eighth Artiad of the Peoples of Russia.
