Akkum ( Kaz.Aққұm ) is a village in the Talas district of the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center and the only settlement of the Akkum rural district. It is located about 85 km northeast of the district center, the city of Karatau . The KATO code is 316232100 [1] .

In 1999, the population of the village was 1,437 people (734 men and 703 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census , 1,417 people lived in the village (715 men and 702 women) [2] .
