Karaoi ( Kaz. Қaraoi ) is a village in the Talas district of the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan . It is part of the Karatau rural district. It is located about 33 km west of the district center, the city of Karatau . The KATO code is 316239200 [1] .

In 1999, the village population was 338 people (184 men and 154 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census , 407 people lived in the village (215 men and 192 women) [2] .
