Afif ( Arabic: عفيف ) is a city and the same name governorate in Saudi Arabia , in the administrative district of Riyadh . Located on the Tariq 50 highway (Kuwait - Mecca), at an altitude of 1039 m above sea level [1] . According to 2004 data, the population of Afif is 39 581 people, the population of the governorate is about 80 thousand people.

By spelling, the name of the city coincides with the Arabic name Afif .
History
The city was founded in 1910 and is located in the wandering zone of the Bedouins of the Utaiba tribe. The city is also known for making its first landing here, the first plane belonging to the first king of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz ibn Saud .
