Irene Dailey ( eng. Irene Dailey ; September 12, 1920 - September 24, 2008) is an American actress known for her roles in soap operas and Broadway productions [5] . Sister of actor Dan Daily . The Daily received the Drama Desk Award for her role in the 1966 play Numbers, and in 1969 she joined the soap opera On the Doorstep of the Night . Daley became most famous thanks to the role of Liz Matthews, the matriarch of the family, in the soap opera “ Another World ”, where she starred until 1994 [5] . In 1979, she won the Daytime Emmy Award for her role in the show [5] [6] .

Daily’s career began at the age of eight with performances in vaudeville, and on the Broadway stage she made her debut in 1943 [5] . During her long career, she appeared in several dozens of Broadway productions, and in addition to that, she had prominent roles in the films Lady Don't Be Used That Way (1968), Five Easy Pieces (1970), Grissom Gang (1971) and The Amityville Horror (1979). Daley died of colon cancer in 2008 in Santa Rosa, California [5] .
