The village is located between the Shepelevsky Bay, located about 1.5 km west of the Rybinsk Reservoir, and about 700 m east, by the road from the center of the village of Glebovo on Larionovo , opposite the southern outskirts of the village Baranovo located on this road. The village stands on a small field surrounded by pine forests and has one street oriented from east to west. To the northwest of Ploskoy is the village of Podolsk [2] .
The village of Ploskaya is indicated on the plan of the General Land Surveying of the Rybinsk Uyezd in 1792, but it is located much westward on the banks of the Volga, where Petrakovo is now.
As of January 1, 2007, there were no permanent residents in the village [3] . A post office located in the center of the rural district, the village of Pogorelka serves 49 houses in the village of Ploskoe [4] .
