Kuzmin, Renat Ravellevich

Renat Ravelievich Kuzmin (born July 12, 1967, Donetsk ) is a Ukrainian lawyer and politician. Former Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, State Counselor of Justice, 1st class, civil servant of 1st rank, candidate for the presidency of Ukraine in 2014 .

Biography

Born on July 12, 1967 in the city of Donetsk into a Russian-Tatar family.

  • 1985 - student of the Ukrainian Law Academy ( Kharkov ).

  • 1988 - legal adviser in the Donetsk production and trade knitwear union.
  • 1991 - intern at the Donetsk Environmental Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office.

  • 1992 - Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the Leninsky district of Donetsk.

In January 2017, he called on SBU head Vasyl Gritsak to initiate a criminal case on high treason against President Petro Poroshenko and top managers of Roshen , as the Lipetsk factory owned by the company financed the Russian army by paying taxes in participation in the armed conflict in the east of the country . After the refusal, the department filed a lawsuit in court demanding to start an investigation, in July the court ordered the SBU to register and start the investigation of the criminal case [1] .

Interesting Facts

Under the leadership of R. Kuzmin, the cases concerning the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Yu. V. Lutsenko forwarded under Part 5 of Art. 191 and Part 3 of Art. 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, Part 1 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the former Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection of Ukraine G. G. Filipchuk under Part 3 of Art. 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, former Prime Minister of Ukraine Tymoshenko Y.V. for hours. 3 Art. 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Kuzmin filed a criminal case against the former President of Ukraine Kuchma L. D. on the fact of abuse of power and official authority, which caused grave consequences regarding the rights and interests of citizens protected by law Gongadze G. R. and A. A. Podolsky, under Part 3 of Article 3 . 166 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (as amended by the Criminal Code of Ukraine in 1960).

Under the leadership of Kuzmin, a pre-trial investigation was conducted in a criminal case about the criminal activities of Tkach S.F. , who during 1984-2005 committed a series of premeditated murders and attempted murders combined with rape of women, minors and young girls, for which, as established by the investigation , 8 people were illegally convicted. For each of the established facts of unlawful conviction of persons in this case, an investigation of newly discovered circumstances was conducted, and in 2008–2010, the courts abolished the convictions regarding unlawful conviction.

Four criminal cases were investigated and sent to court on charges of police officers who, using unlawful methods of investigation, pressure and physical violence, forced the illegally convicted persons to incriminate themselves in committing these serious crimes.

Prosecution

On June 1, 2014, a Ukrainian court decided to arrest Renat Kuzmin for the crimes provided for in part 3 of Article 371 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Since then, Kuzmin is hiding from justice and put on the international wanted list [3] .

However, on January 9, 2015, the Interpol General Secretariat refused to search for R. Kuzmin due to the obvious political motivation for his criminal prosecution in Ukraine [4] .

Scientific Activities

Scientific works of R. Kuzmin at various times were published in specialized Ukrainian editions "Bulletin of the Academy of the Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine", "The Prosecutor's Office. Person. State "," Legal Record "," Bulletin of the Prosecutor's Office "," Our Law "," Scientific Bulletin of the National Academy of Internal Affairs. "

In 2011, R. Kuzmin’s monograph “The economic and legal mechanism of decriminalization of the economy of Ukraine” was published.

The scientific article “Defamation as a means of unlawful influence on the court and investigation in the criminal process of Ukraine” was published in a specialized publication - the newspaper “Law and Business” No. 11 (1101), March 16-22, 2013.
