2014 European Fencing Championship

The 2014 European Fencing Championship is a fencing competition that was held June 7-14 in Strasbourg , France [1] , and became the 27th in a row. 12 sets of awards were won: in individual and team championships in fencing with swords, rapiers and sabers among men and women. In personal competitions, a duel for the third place is not held and a bronze medal is awarded to both losing semifinalists. Among the teams, a battle is held for third place. The tournament was held according to the Olympic system .

European champions in individual competitions were: the representative of Hungary Andras Redley (sword), the representative of Great Britain James-Andrew Davis (rapier), the representatives of Italy Bianca Del Carretto (sword) and Eliza Di Francisca (rapier). Saber fighters Russian Alexei Yakimenko and Ukrainian Olga Harlan became European champions for the fifth time. Italy (male saber and female rapier) won twice in team competitions, Russia (female saber), Romania (female saber), France (male saber) and Switzerland (male saber) once each.
