The lake is located on the territory of the Department of General Lopez ( Spanish Departamento General López ) - the administrative unit of the province of Santa Fe . Nearby cities: Pergamino , Peres, Rosario .
The lake area is 120 km², height above sea level - 86 meters. The lake is drainless. A part of Melinkue Lake is protected as a reserve.
Melinkue Lake, famous for healing mud , attracting many tourists.
