Drakensbergena cuneifer (lat.) Is a species of jumping insects of the tribe Drakensbergenini from the subfamily of the Tsadok deltocephalinae ( Cicadellidae ). South Africa : KwaZulu-Natal, at altitudes up to 1460 m. Length 5-7 mm. Antennae short (their length is 1 mm). Short-winged with head stretched forward. The head is wider than pronotum (head - 1.5-1.7 mm, pronotum - 1.3-1.4 mm). Macrosetal back hip formula is 2 + 1 or 2 + 1 + 1. Lateral pronotal margin keeled. Ozellium reduced. They are found in the herbaceous biomes of southern Africa with the predominance of Heteropogon contortus ( Poaceae ). The species was first described in 2009 by the South African entomologist Michael Stiller ( Michael Stiller , ARC-Plant Protection Research Institute, Queenswood, Pretoria ) [1] [2] .
