Opus Eponymous is the debut studio album of Swedish heavy metal band Ghost , released October 18, 2010. In the USA, the album was released on January 18 [7] and April 6 in Japan . A bonus track cover for the song The Beatles by Here Comes the Sun was added to the Japanese edition [8] .

The album was nominated for the Swedish Grammis Award, but the black metal group Watain won [9] [10] .
The lyrics are based on satanic and occult themes. An exception is the only single from the album, Elizabeth , dedicated to Elizabeth Bathory .
