The program has been developed by the Russian company [4] CADSoftTools since 2003. The application has been translated into more than 30 languages [5] and supports over 50 vector and raster 2D and 3D formats. The ABViewer program is also included in the “Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computers and Databases”. [6]
Content
History
The early version of ABViewer was an image viewer that merged CAD format files, stored images on the clipboard in BMP, EMF [7] formats, and printed a group of files. [8] The program originally supported 20 languages and was available in two versions: Standard and Professional. [9] In 2007, ABViewer was no longer just a viewer, but was a single tool for viewing, editing and converting files. The application had all the tools of a professional editor and supported operations that are commonly used to perform design work. As a converter, ABViewer also made it possible to convert the selected part of the image.
Functionality
View
ABViewer provides viewing of drawings in 2D and 3D format. Supports work with layers and sheets of the drawing; available to change the position of the drawing on the screen: scaling, rotating 3D models, as well as changing the view and display mode of the drawing, navigating through files through the window "Sketches"; ability to hide / show texts and sizes; measurement of drawings (in 2D and 3D modes). The program allows not only to view the drawings, but also provides access to the properties and structure of the drawing. [2]
Editing
In the Editor, you can create drawings from scratch and edit existing files. for working with CAD drawings [10] : drawing tools (adding primitives); editing tools (for working with already created drawings); various types of binding; work with blocks and external links files.
Save and Print
ABViewer program allows you to save and print drawings: save to vector and raster formats; conversion of DWG / DXF files into G-code [11] ; advanced print settings (multi-sheet printing, preview, sheet options). Batch file operations are available: batch processing and batch printing. [12]
Additional features
ABViewer also provides additional capabilities for working with drawings: PDF conversion to editable DWG files [13] , redline mode for marking, DWG / DXF drawing revision comparison function, georeferencing, command line operation, LISP support, and XML support.

Versions
ABViewer program is available in three versions: Standard, Professional and Enterprise. [5] The functionality of the application varies depending on the version of the license.
- ABViewer Standard is a basic version of the program for viewing CAD file formats. In this version, viewing and converting 2D files are available, as well as printing on several sheets.
- ABViewer Professional contains a full-featured viewer and CAD file editor. In addition to the functionality of the Standard version, this version includes viewing and converting 3D models, converting DWG / DXF drawings to G code, a 2D file editor, and Redline mode, which allows you to add marks over the drawing without changing the source file.
- ABViewer Enterprise - the full version of the program with advanced features. It includes additional functions such as PDF to DWG converter, file comparison, as well as operations for working with groups of files: batch conversion and batch printing.
Localization
ABViewer is fully translated into the following languages [15] : English , Hungarian , Hebrew , Spanish , Italian , Chinese , German , Dutch , Portuguese , Russian , Finnish , French , Czech . Documentation and detailed help system are available in Russian, English, German and French.
