Biography

Born April 16, 1901 in the city of Elisavetgrad [1] , in a working class family. Russian by nationality. He graduated from four classes of school. From the age of 12 he began to work at the factory.

In 1917 he came to work in the railway depot of the station Elisavetgrad, was a pupil of a locksmith, a locksmith. In 1922-1924 he served in the Red Army . After demobilization, he returned to his hometown. He became an assistant engineer, in 1930 - an engineer.

With the beginning of World War II, he drove trains with troops. During the evacuation from Kirovograd, Tyutyushkin led the brigade, which led a train with the military, the leadership of the station and the depot. Through the station Khirovka , already occupied by the Nazis, had to break through with battle. Ahead they launched a mined trolley that exploded at the station. A few seconds later, on a nearby track at high speed, Tyutyushkin led his train.

Next was Kremenchug , Kharkov , where Tyutyushkin was assigned to the locomotive depot of the Povorino Penza Railway . Then he was the engineer of the convoy of steam locomotives No. 18 of the special reserve of the People’s Commissariat of Railways, depot Tikhvin of the Northern Railway . He drove trains with goods for the besieged Leningrad , quickly and smoothly brought up front equipment, ammunition, food.

In his team there was not a single violation of labor discipline, there was no marriage at work. Having a solid history of locksmithing, he knew the repair business well, almost always after returning from a trip he “cured” a steam locomotive: either brewed a hole, then changed parts damaged by a fragment.

In October 1942 , as an experienced driver, he was sent to Column No. 12 of the special reserve of the People’s Commissariat of Railways formed at the Kashira station of the Moscow-Donbass Railway . The enthusiasm of Tyutyushkin and other railway workers contributed to the early introduction of the column into operation. Soon the convoy was sent to Stalingrad and was there until the complete defeat of the Nazi group.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 5, 1943 "for special merits in providing transportation for the front and the national economy and outstanding achievements in restoring the railway industry in difficult wartime conditions", Sergeant Tyutyushkin Semyon Fokovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin (No. 16267) and the Gold Medal "Hammer and Sickle" (No. 136).

From April 1944 until the Victory over Germany, Special Column No. 12 was stationed on the Baranavichy - Brest - Bialystok - Warsaw section, providing supplies for units of the 2nd Belorussian Front . In November 1944, Tyutyushkin was awarded the title of Engineer-Lieutenant of Traction.

In 1946 he returned to his hometown. He worked at the depot of the Kirov-Ukrainskaya station [2] of the Odessa Railway . Before retiring in 1956, he worked as a train engineer on duty at the depot.

He died on November 25, 1980 . He was buried in Kirovograd.

Memory

In the city of Kirovograd, a memorial plaque was erected on the building of the Tyutyushkin train station to Semyon Fokovich, a street was named after him.
