Village Kovalevo Liskinsky district
The old residents of the region report the following details about the history of the settlement and its surroundings:
From Ostrogozhsky county here all the settlements. Melakhino, Pukhovo, Putchino, Kolomytsevo, Popasnoe - up to Shchuchy. Earlier, where is now the station Kovalevo, there was nothing. Lived one owner - Kovalev. And the station was called “Pukhovo”, after the name of the village Pukhovo . Here the place is more even. And there, where the village Pukhovo - ravines and the station has nowhere to put. And according to the distance from Liski it was convenient to make a station there (that from Liski, and that from Evdakovo - the same). Then, at the station, people began to settle, and the whole village began to be called by the name of Kovalev. Kovalev, this is probably also a migrant from Ostrogozhsky district. The land had to be inhabited. When they built the railway, they hired people. On the garbah they carried the sand, made a mound, sawn the sleepers. There was so much forest. That is why the beam on Rossosh, which began 2-3 km from the village of Puhovo, was called Karatechnik, since there were many trees called “karachnik” (elm). He has solid wood like oak.
Roborovo, Chiplievo, Pyatnevka - a place near the village of Puhovo. From Pyatnevka took clay - red and yellow. Shvedovo is a Russian village, and in the village of Liski there are natural Ukrainians.
Previously, Kovalevo was called Kryskovo here. And no one ever called him Kovalevo. A small Kovalevka was near the Kryskovo through a ravine. There were several houses in which people lived. And to this day it is called little Kovalevka [2] .
