Biography
Williams was born in Connecticut in the family of television presenter Brian Williams and producer Jane Gillan Stoddard. [3]
In 2010, she graduated from Yale University and already at the end of the year received a role in the series " Girls " by Lina Dunham [4] , which premiered in the spring of 2012 [3] . While studying at Yale, she played for 4 years in the comedy improvisation theater Just Add Water and participated in the series College Musical of the secret student society of St. Elmo, which was posted on YouTube.
She received good reviews from critics for her role in "Girls" and in 2013 turned out to be one of the main candidates for the Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a comedy television series [5] . In addition to this, she appeared in several episodes of the sitcom “ The Mindy Project ” in 2013 [6] .
In 2010, Williams appeared in a video mashup for the title track of the series “ Mad Men ” Nature Boy [7] , which became very popular on the Internet. [8] He became one of the reasons for taking her to a role in Girls [9] .
Since September 19, 2015, Williams has been married to entrepreneur Ricky Van Wien whom she met 4 years before their wedding [10] . On June 27, 2019, she announced their separation after almost four years of marriage [11] .
