Magazine Magazines and Encyclopedic Review - published in St. Petersburg twice a week in 1898 and 1899 , with illustrations based on the English and American magazines Review of Reviews and the French Revue des Revues. Editor-publisher I.P. Kondyrev .
About the tasks of the magazine, which he saw as much broader and more responsible than simple reprint, the editor-publisher, in particular, wrote:
The magazine’s practical task is to present the reader with a coherent picture of the modern movement and development of human thought, mark new and general theories in one or another specialty, point out discoveries, inventions and ideas that give a new direction to thought, propagate hypotheses that open up new prospects for future knowledge gain
