Geography
The village is located on the banks of the rivers Vetluga and Karzha. [2] [3]
History
According to the Lists of the inhabited places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village belonged to the 2nd camp of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province . There were 36 yards in it , 87 men and 62 women lived. [2]
According to the 1897 census , 199 people lived in the village (88 men and 111 women). [3]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Province in 1907, the village belonged to the Odoevsk-Spirinsky volost of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province. According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 48 peasant households and 281 inhabitants. There was a water mill in the village. The predominant occupation of the villagers, except for agriculture, was forestry. [3]
In 1916, there were 46 yards in the village, in which 261 people lived (103 men and 158 women). [four]
In 1925, 297 residents lived in the village. [5]
