Bello ( Spanish: Bello ) is a city and municipality in Colombia as part of the Antioquia department. It is a suburb of Medellin , the capital of the department, and is part of its metropolitan area.

Geographical position
The city is located in the department of Antioquia , 18 km from its capital Medellin . The absolute height is 1 310 meters above sea level [1] .
The area of the municipality is 142.36 km² [2] .
Population
According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia, the total population of the city and municipality in 2012 was 429,984 people [3] . The dynamics of the population of the city by years:

According to the 2005 census, men made up 47.1% of the population of the city, women - 52.9%, respectively. Racially, whites and mestizos accounted for 92.2% of the city's population; blacks - 7.7%, Indians - 0.1%. [4] . The literacy rate among people over 5 years old was 92.9%.
