Tumaco

San Andrés de Tumaco ( Spanish: San Andrés de Tumaco ), better known simply as Tumaco ( Spanish: Tumaco ), is a city and municipality in Colombia that is part of the Narinho department, a port on the Pacific coast. It is located not far from the border with Ecuador and is inhabited mainly by Afro-Colombians. Tumaco is also unofficially called the " Pearl of the Pacific " because of the beautiful beaches in its vicinity.

In 2009, Colombian filmmaker Samuel Cordoba directed a documentary on the city of Tumaco Pacífico , presented and evaluated at a number of documentary film festivals. [one]

The city is also known as the birthplace of a number of famous football players, among them Willington Ortiz .
