Biography

In 1954 and 1955 he became the champion of the Estonian SSR in chess among schoolchildren.

In the national team of the Estonian SSR, a participant in the USSR team championships . In 1958 [1] and in 1967 [2] . received a small gold medal for the best result on the board. In 1962 he received a small silver medal for the 3rd result on the board. [3]

At the Estonian SSR chess championships, a total of 9 medals were won: three gold (1965, 1969, 1973), three silver (1964, 1966, 1970) and three bronze (1962, 1967, 1968). [4] In 1974 and 1990, he excelled in the Estonian Blitz Championship.

He participated in the strong composition of the Tallinn tournament in 1969 . In 1971, at the representative chess tournament in the city of Pärnu, he took sixth place. [five]

As part of the Estonian national team, he participated in international matches with the national teams of Finland (2001, a draw with K. Consala ) and Latvia (2002, a draw with V.F. Kirillov ).

He graduated from the Faculty of Philology of Tartu State University . [6]
