Zhambyl ( kaz. Zhambyl ) is a village in the Merkensky district of the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center of Zhambyl rural district. It is located directly west of the village of Merke , the administrative center of the district. The KATO code is 315433100 [1] .

Founded in 1932 as the central branch of the Merkensky beet farm. The Almaty-Taraz road [2] passes through Zhambyl.
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 6,534 people (3,462 men and 3,072 women) [3] . According to the 2009 census , 6,633 people (3,237 men and 3,396 women) lived in the village [3] .
