Biography
Representative of the Prussian noble family of Fleming, son of the Prussian field marshal Heinrich Hein von Flemming ( 1661 - 1739 ) and Dorothea Sofia von Flemming ( 1673 - 1754 ). A cousin is the first Minister of Saxony, Jacob Heinrich von Fleming .
Since 1724, he commanded the royal regiment in the Commonwealth. In 1733, he supported the election of the Saxon Elector Augustus III Wettin to the royal throne of the Commonwealth. In 1738 he received the rank of General of Lithuanian Artillery, in 1746 he received the post of Sub-Great Lithuanian. Fulfilled diplomatic missions in Saxony and Russia.
He was a rich and influential person in the Commonwealth. He had connections with the princes of Czartoryski , focused on Russia, was at enmity with the governor of Vilna, Karol Stanislav Radziwill, "Pan Kohanka . " In 1762, he supported the Czartoryski against Brühl.
In the spring of 1764, together with the princes Masalsky and Oginsky, he created the anti-Radziwill confederation in Vilna . With the election of Stanislaw August Poniatowski to the royal throne in 1764, Jan Jerzy Fleming’s relations with the royal court deteriorated, and the creation of the treasury commission of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania ( 1764 ) put an end to his influence in financial matters.

Family
He was married three times. On February 13, 1744, he married Princess Antonin (Antoinette) of Czartoryski ( 1728 - 1746 ), the eldest daughter of Grand Lithuanian Chancellor Mikhail Frederick Czartoryski ( 1699 - 1775 ) and Countess Eleanor Monica Waldstein ( 1710 - 1792 ).
In 1747, he remarried to Princess Constantia Czartoryski ( 1729 - 1749 ), the second daughter of the great Lithuanian Chancellor Michael Frederick Czartoryski ( 1699 - 1775 ) and Countess Eleanor Monica Waldstein ( 1710 - 1792 ). Children:
- Isabella von Flemming ( 1746 - 1835 ), wife since 1761 of the general headman of Podolsky, Prince Adam Casimir Czartoryski ( 1734 - 1823 ).
For the third time he married Catherine de Seggries de Bilken, from whom she had no children.
