The community of cheap apartments is a society in the Russian Empire , founded in St. Petersburg in 1860 by Maria Trubnikova and Nadezhda Stasova [1] , activists who fought for women's education. Full name: The highest approved Society for the delivery of cheap apartments and other benefits to the needy residents of St. Petersburg . It was under the patronage of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolayevich .

Community Activities
The society of cheap apartments delivered comfortable and cheap homes to 400 adults and 140 children. In society there were a school, a kindergarten, a sewing workshop, a canteen, a vocational school, and two shelters for elderly and female students. [2]
