Biography
Vadim Davydov (real name Ivan) was born on July 6, 1910.
He began his theatrical career as an actor in Dnepropetrovsk in 1926 (the pseudonym Vadim appeared at the same time).
In 1943, together with several other Dnipropetrovsk actors, he came to Saratov to revive the Theater of Young Spectators . In tandem with Yu. P. Kiselev, Davydov managed to turn the inactive theater for several years into one of the main cultural centers of the city.
In the Saratov Youth Theater, the director staged such fairy tale performances as “The Scarlet Flower”, “The Little Humpbacked Horse” and “The Adventures of Chipollino”. Among the roles played by Davydov are Tristan in Tristan and Isolde, Arthur in Gadfly, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet. As a teacher, Vadim Ivanovich opened the way to the stage for a number of famous actors.
In the summer of 1968, due to a number of working and personal disagreements, Davydov left the Youth Theater and Saratov and moved to Volgograd , where for the second time in his life he placed the local theater of a young audience on its feet. He headed the Volgograd Youth Theater Vadim Ivanovich for a short time, in the following years he worked in theatrical circles and studios.
He died in 1997.
