Carynota (lat.) - genus of even -winged insects from the family of humpbacks ( Smiliinae , Membracidae ). Nonarctic : USA and Canada . The dorsal edge of the head with a sharp rise at the eyes. Pronotum covers the front fenders, with a simple round protrusion, shoulder angles are enlarged, but without protrusions-horns. Fore wings with R, M, and Cu veins separated at base, but converging at apex; with 2 or more transverse veins m-cu. Host plants: Betulaceae : Alnus , Betula , Corylus ; Fagaceae : Quercus ; Hamamelidaceae : Hamamelis ; Julgandaceae : Carya , Juglans ; Tiliaceae : Tilia ^[1] .
