Los Nevados National Park ( Spanish: Parque nacional natural Los Nevados ) is located in Colombia on the border of four departments: Tolima , Caldas , Kindio and Risaralda in the Central Cordillera region . Los Nevados is the third most visited country out of 55 national parks (50,045 visitors in 2009).

Geography
The area of the park is 583 km² [1] , the elevation is from 2600 to 5321 meters above sea level ( Nevado del Ruiz is the highest active volcano of the ). Other famous volcanoes in the park: Nevado del Tolima (5200 m.), (4965 m.), (4760 m.), Paramo de Santa Rosa, Cerro Bravo (4000 m.), Cerro Machin (2750 m.), m. The largest lake in the park is Santa Isabel , with an area of 1.5 km² and a depth of 70 meters.

Description
The park was created in 1973. 1250 species of vascular plants , 200 species of mosses , 300 species of lichens , 180 species of mushrooms were found in the territory. In the lowest parts of the park, the prevails among the trees, with a height of 30 meters. Lots of birds: blue-caped momot , yellow-eared parrot , , endemic red-billed parakeet , Andean condor , , American mackerel , . The most remarkable mammals: mountain tapir , spectacled bear , northern pudu , oncilla , puma , [2] , 20 species of bats [3] .
The air temperature in the park ranges from -3 ° C to 14 ° C. The greatest amount of precipitation falls in April – May, the least - in January – February and in July – August [3] .
