Biography

Hugh V was the son of Hugh IV de Lusignan and Odegard de Tuar. He married Almodis de La Marsh , the daughter of Count La Marsh Bernard I. After a while, he was forced to divorce her due to a close relationship, and Almodis married her second marriage to Count Pons of Toulouse .

In 1060, at the request of the ex-wife, Hugo V, he acted on the side of Guilom IV of Toulouse (son of Pons and Almodis) against his liege lord, Duke Guillot VIII of Aquitaine . However, he was besieged by the troops of the duke in his Lusignan castle and died in front of his gate during a sally .
