Biography
In 1962 and 1963 he played in the Premier League for Kuibyshev 's Wings of the Soviets . In 1966, the shipbuilder’s coach Abram Lerman called Shekhovtsev to Nikolaev , where Leonid Koltun, who he knew from Kharkov, played. Shekhovtsev spent 8 years at Sudostroitel, having played about 300 matches during this time and scored nine goals.
After the player’s career ended, he worked as a coach at the Sports School for about 20 years. In the mid-1990s, he worked for two years as a coach of SK Nikolaev.
In tandem with Stanislav Baida, he trained famous football players Vladimir Ponomarenko , Valery Vysokos , Alexander Fomenko and others.
