History

In “ ESBE ” it is indicated that the word Duty , literally means a queue in the performance of a duty on a certain day [1] . Later on duty acquired a twofold (double) meaning. On the one hand, under the duty, the duties of the duty officer in general were understood, and on the other hand, the name of the duty was assigned to the Special Section of the Office of the Duty General of the Army .

In the Great Soviet Encyclopedia , the word “duty” implies that a worker stays at work during off-hours for additional duties, which, in turn, is then compensated for by the worker’s ability to take time off for the next ten days [2] . This duty was legislatively enshrined in the resolution of the All - Union Central Council of Trade Unions of April 2, 1954 [3] .

Duty should be distinguished from cases of performance of work duties at night or on holidays by doctors, nurses, plumbers, electricians, investigators, in practice also referred to as duty [4] .

At school

In schools, the duty of the student on duty - “The duty officer” is to prepare the blackboard for the lesson, cleaning the class after the lessons and the like.

In an enterprise

Duty is practiced in some enterprises, where the duty officer solves issues that are usually not related to his daily work activity.

In the military

In the Armed Forces of the USSR and the Russian Federation - Russia , daily duty, defined in Chapter 6 of the Internal Service Charter, is widely used as a daily outfit .

Article 256 of the UVS of the Russian Armed Forces: “A daily outfit is appointed to maintain internal order, protect personnel, weapons, military equipment and ammunition, premises and other military property of a military unit ( unit ), monitor the state of affairs in the units and take timely measures to prevent crime . "

The duty of the servicemen and subunits is carried out in the order of uniform sequence, in accordance with a previously developed schedule (the so-called outfits sheets are kept ). Each interchanging change of daily dress on the eve of the name is approved by a written order on the military unit.

With the persons entering into the outfit, classes are held, the examination of knowledge and skills and immediately before the intercession - instruction . Three hours are allocated for preparation.

A daily outfit is held daily - building an upcoming shift, usually on the parade ground , with the goal of final checking the persons on duty for readiness to fulfill their duties. In the event that at least one soldier is unavailable for duty (for any reason), he is subject to urgent replacement, and the divorce is delayed until the exchange arrived. After the divorce, the new outfit decreases to the place of service. At each place of duty, an approved procedure for receiving and transmitting duty with a report to the higher duty officer and a written report is carried out.

The service is carried in most cases around the clock. For rest and sleep, the schedule of duty is determined by the time in order of priority on duty, at least 4 hours a day (as a rule, and no more). Contract servicemen who are on duty only on weekends and public holidays receive additional time for rest ( time off ).

Daily outfit is assigned in all military units and subunits, and can vary significantly in terms of the quantitative composition and nature of the duties performed in different branches of the armed forces of the Armed Forces and in each specific military unit, depending on its specialization and deployment . Daily outfit is the main form of duty, aimed at maintaining the daily life of the military unit and the required readiness to perform tasks to the destination.

Persons of daily dress, as a rule, are armed with personal weapons .
