"Red Niva" - Soviet literary illustrated thin magazine, supplement to the newspaper " Izvestia ". Created on the model of the pre-revolutionary " Niva ". Out in 1923-1931, respectively.

In 1923, the editorial staff included Yu. M. Steklov (until 1926) and A. V. Lunacharsky (until 1930); in 1924 , IM Kasatkin was added (until 1926). In 1925, the editorial staff was enlarged, including V.N. Lazarev (until 1926), N.S. Ashukin (until 1929), J.A. Tugendhold (before 1928), I.I. Skvortsov-Stepanov (until 1928). ). Vesely “Walk, Volga”, short stories B. Pilnyak , M. Prishvin , Vyach. Shishkov , Sun. Ivanova , I. Sokolov-Mikitova , N. Zarudina , A. Platonov , verses by V. [1] Mayakovsky [ clarify ] , E. Bagritsky [ clarify ] , A. Shiryaevts , P. Oreshin , S. Yesenin , P. Radimov . These were mainly the authors of the “ Pass ” or the “ Novo-Peasant ” direction. A. Kaplun collaborated with the magazine as an illustrator.

In the years 1930-1931, the magazine had difficulties due to the lack of paper and the intensive struggle of the RAPP with the “polonoshchina”. From 1930 the magazine began to go out three times a month, and in December 1931 it was closed.
