Biography

He studied cinema at the University of Paris IV and after 4 years of study received a master's degree. At the age of 22, he entered the Les Gobelins Animation School in Paris. After graduation, he worked in 1997-2006. in Los Angeles animator at DreamWorks Animation .

His first notable work was to create the full-length animated film Prince of Egypt , released in 1998. In 2002, while participating in the work on the cartoon Spirit: The Soul of the Prairie, one of Dreamworx's producers asked Joubert, “Do you mind getting a degree in computer animation , because they wanted to check if a traditional animator of two-dimensional graphics is capable of re-profiling to work with new, three-dimensional graphics. Now it must sound funny, but in those days the producers were not at all sure that it would work ” [1] .

In 2005, Joubert worked in Bristol at the de: Aardman film company as part of the cartoon team Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Werewolf . At the end of his work on the cartoon, he returned to Paris and in 2007 began to create his first own cartoon, Coffee in French . The cartoon was released by the Pumpkin Factory / Bibo Films studio, with co-owner Eric (Bibo) Bergeron, Joubert previously collaborated at the Dreamworx film studio. The cartoon won numerous international prizes, and in 2010 was nominated for an Oscar in the genre of "Best Short Animated Film." After Joubert participated in the creation of the cartoon Despicable Me as an animation director, he began work on the cartoon Monster in Paris , which had to be interrupted in 2008 [2] . Since 2011, he resumed cooperation with Bebo Bergeron, who became the producer of the film, which was released in 2011.
