Mikhail Petrovich Avramov ( 1681 - 1752 ) - director of the first St. Petersburg printing house, founded under Emperor Peter I. The author of many reform projects.

Biography
Mikhail Avramov was born in 1681. He began his service at the age of ten with the clerk of the Ambassadorial order . In 1697 he was sent to study in Holland , where he spent 5 years. There he studied "typographic sciences." In 1702 Avramov returned from Holland, and Peter I appointed him clerk of the Armory . Then Avramov moved to St. Petersburg , where he took an active part in the founding of the printing house. In 1711, he was appointed the first director of the printing house and held this post until 1721. From 1721 to 1724 he was in the service at the Berg College . Avramov married the daughter of A.V. Makarov .
Under Peter II, he joined conservative circles and criticized the reforms of Peter I. Mikhail Avramov became a very religious person. He accused Feofan Prokopovich of heresy. During the reign of Anna Ivanovna in 1732, Avramov was imprisoned in the Iversky monastery for a project to restore the patriarchate. In 1738, Avramov was sent into exile in Okhotsk . In 1741, after the arrival of Elizabeth Petrovna, he returned from exile to St. Petersburg. Avramov again began to propose various projects, in particular, spoke about the need to protect the Russians from the influx of foreigners, advocated strengthening church censorship, offered to issue paper money in exchange for metal, and advocated the establishment of grain stocks. For these projects, Avramov was again imprisoned in the Secret Chancellery in 1748, where he died on August 24, 1752.
