History

In 1999, a list of settlements in the Vologda Oblast was approved. According to this list, there were village councils:

  • Verkhnekemsky (OKATO 19 234 816) - 19 settlements, the center is the village of Borok,
  • Nizhnekemsky (OKATO 19 234 848) - 9 settlements, the center - the village of Nikolskoye [1] .

In 2000, the villages of Pavlovo, Tin, Aridovo, Dubrovka of the Verkhnekemsky village council, the village of Gorka of the Nizhnekemskiy village council [2] [3] were abolished.

On January 1, 2006, in accordance with Federal Law No. 131 “On General Principles of the Organization of Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation” , Verkhnekemskoe and Nizhnekemskoe rural settlements were formed, which included the village councils of the same name [4] .

On April 1, 2013, the Verkhnekemskoe and Nizhnekemskoe rural settlements were merged into the Kemskoye rural settlement [5] .

Geography

Located in the west of the area. Borders:

  • in the east with Permassky , Krasnopolyansky and Niginsky rural settlements,
  • in the north with the Vakhnevsky rural settlement and the Podbolotny rural settlement of the Babushkinsky district ,
  • in the west with Roslyatinsky and Bereznikovsky rural settlements of the Babushkinsky district .
  • in the south with the Kostroma region .

Population

According to the 2010 census, the population of the Verkhnekemsky rural settlement amounted to 1313 people, Nizhnekemskogo - 333 people [6] , the estimate for January 1, 2012 - 1230 people and 327 people, respectively [7] .
