History
The first mention of the Pyatistennaya dates back to the beginning of the XVIII century. The Russian polar explorer F.F. Matyushkin in 1821 describes the origin of the name of the village from a nearby separate cliff, five equal sides of which rise vertically from the ground and give it the appearance of a large tower.
A church was built in the village, in Soviet times there was a small school. The collective farm βNew Lifeβ was organized here [1] .
In the 1960s the villagers were resettled in Anyuysk. Currently in Pyatistennoy is the production site of the agricultural enterprise "Anyuyskoe".
