Biography

One of the strongest weightlifters in the world in the category up to 105 kg. Born in North Ossetia, belongs to the ethnic group of Digorians .

He left his native Vladikavkaz to seek happiness in Bulgaria , since he was not included in principle in our national team. In Bulgaria , excellent conditions were created for him, and at the 2000 Games, Alan won a silver medal in the first heavyweight.

He became the winner of the Three Athletes international tournament, held according to the Sinclair system (when calculating points, the weight of the barbell and the weight of the athlete are taken into account), lifting 104.45 kg in the snatch 185 kg, in the clean and jerk - 232.5 kg and gaining 441.50 point.

Before the Olympics in Athens, he was considered one of the main contenders for Olympic gold, but, due to an injury, Tsagaev was forced to refuse to travel to Athens .

In 2008, before the games in Beijing, he was disqualified for doping. The athlete test gave a positive result on the steroid [1] .
