December 10, 1932 Tovarkovsky district was restored as part of the Moscow region, by separation from the Bogoroditsky district . Its center was the working village at the Tovarkovsky mine (according to other sources - the working village of Kaganovich). The structure of the district included r.p. Kaganovich, village councils Kuzovsky, Levinsky, Lomovsky, October, Pavlovsky, Paporatsky, Tovarkovsky and Miners.

An interesting source on the history of the Tovarkovo district during the war is the personal diary of the party’s district committee secretary Vasily Rebrikov, the surviving part of the diary covers October and November 1941. The regional center - the city of Bogoroditsk was in occupation from November 15 to December 15, 1941 . During this time, the Nazis executed 32 people and destroyed 65% of the houses during the retreat. The city was liberated by the forces of the 324th Rifle and 41st Cavalry Divisions of the 10th Army .

On February 16, 1944, the Bogoroditsky district was allocated from the Tovarkovsky districts. The center of the Tovarkovo district was returned to the village at the Tovarkovsky mine.

September 24, 1957 the center of the district was renamed Tovarkovsky.

On May 12, 1959, the Tovarkovsky District was abolished. At the same time, its territory was transferred to the Bogoroditsky district.
