Geography
The village is located near the banks of the Vetluga River .
History
At the beginning of the XVII century, the village belonged to the boyar, Prince Fyodor Mstislavsky , some time after the death of which, in 1640, along with other villages was granted by Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich to Prince Boris Repnin , from whom he passed on to his descendants. [2]
According to the Lists of the inhabited places of the Russian Empire in 1872, the village was located on the postal tract from Vetluga to Nikolsk and belonged to the 2nd camp of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province . There were 6 yards in it , 37 men and 36 women lived. In the village there was a post station and the board of the Christmas parish. [3]
According to the 1897 census , 170 people lived in the village (83 men and 87 women). [four]
According to the List of Populated Places of the Kostroma Province in 1907, the village belonged to the Rozhdestvensky volost of the Vetluzh district of the Kostroma province. According to the volost government, in 1907 there were 29 peasant households and 170 inhabitants in the village. There was a windmill in the village. The main occupation of the villagers was forestry. [four]
