The Red Book of Omsk Region is an annotated list of rare and endangered animals, plants and mushrooms of the Omsk Region . It was prepared by a team of scientists from the Omsk State Pedagogical University with the support of the government of the Omsk Region [1] .

Edition
The first edition of the Red Book of the Omsk region was released in 2005. The Red Book of the Omsk Region is an official publication intended both for specialists and for a wide range of readers.
The publication presents a list of rare and endangered animals, plants and fungi of the Omsk region, which includes 292 species of living organisms, including: 128 animal species and 164 plant species [2] .
For each species, illustrations, a distribution map are given, the status and category of rarities are determined, a brief description, information on the number and necessary protection measures are given.
