Porfiry Ivanovich Kilin ( 1925 - 1995 ) - colonel of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR , participant in the Great Patriotic War , Hero of the Soviet Union ( 1945 ).

Biography
Porfiry Kilin was born on September 30, 1925 in Izhevsk . Since 1933, he lived in Novokuznetsk , where he graduated from eight classes of a school and worked as a boxman in the car depot at Novokuznetsk station. In February 1943, Kilin was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . He graduated from junior lieutenant courses. Since May 1944 - on the fronts of World War II, he commanded a platoon of the 920th Infantry Regiment of the 247th Infantry Division of the 69th Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the crossing of the Vistula [1] .
On July 28, 1944, Kilin's platoon was one of the first to cross the Vistula River in the area of the city of Pulawy , seize and hold positions, and repel several German counterattacks. On July 29, 1944, a platoon successfully liberated the stronghold of Brzeцеcie [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, the second lieutenant Porfiry Kilin was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 5198 [1] .
After the war ended, Kilin served in the Soviet Army until 1948 , then transferred to the service in the border , and later in the internal troops . In 1981, Colonel Kilin resigned. He lived in Moscow . He died on September 30, 1995, was buried at the Kuzminskoye cemetery in Moscow [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner , Alexander Nevsky , World War 1 degree, a number of medals [1] .
