Geography
Kalima is located in the western part of the country, about 80 kilometers from the ocean . The length is about 13 kilometers, the width (maximum) is 2.5 kilometers, the area is 70 km², the volume is 0.581 km³, the height above sea level varies from 1,400 to 1,500 meters.
Description
The construction of the dam was started by PERINI Company in 1961 and successfully completed in 1966. Soon, tourists appreciated the beauty of the resulting lake, and settlements, resorts, restaurants, hotels, and campgrounds began to appear around the reservoir [1] . The average water temperature is 19 ° C all year round, but can vary from 12 to 26 ° C. Strong and constant winds [2] made the lake popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers [3] .
