History
The club was founded in 1950 under the name "Los Samarios", most of which were immigrants from Hungary . The club holds home matches at the Eduardo Santos stadium. "Union Magdalena" is the champion of Colombia in 1968.
The team took part in the Libertadores Cup 1969 .
Carlos Valderramma , one of the most famous Colombian footballers, began his career at Union Magdalena.
