The village is located in the center of a rural settlement, north of the road leading from Rybinsk to Tutaev (on the left bank of the Volga ), at a distance of about 500 m from the road and 2 km from the bank of the Volga. The village stands on the right, western shore of a small nameless stream, lost in a sandy quarry located to the south. On the opposite side of the stream, directly opposite Khoroshilovo, stands the village of Protasovo , on the same bank, but upstream at a distance of about 300 m, is the village of Maurino . To the west of Khoroshilovo is a vast field, behind which at a distance of about 1.5 km are the villages of Oborino , Ivanovo and the center of the rural settlement - Nazarovo ^[2] .

The village of Khoroshilova is indicated on the plan of the General Land Survey of Rybinsk Uyezd in 1792.

As of January 1, 2007, there were 10 permanent residents in the village ^[3] . A post office located in the center of the rural settlement of Nazarovo serves 11 houses in the village ^[4] .
