Biography
Prokhor Kashutin was born in 1905 in a peasant family in the village of Dalnaya Kubasova, Mekhon volost, Shadrinsky district, Perm province (now Shatrovsky district, Kurgan region ). Received primary education.
In the 1930s, Prokhor Ivanovich Kashutin and his family left the village [2] .
In July 1941 he was called up for service in the Red Army by the Sverdlovsk RVK of Sverdlovsk. Since August of that year - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War.
From May to August 1942 he fought on the Voronezh Front . August 28, 1942 slightly injured. After the cure, from October 1942 to January 1943, he fought in the 38th Army of the Voronezh Front . On November 15, 1942 he was wounded lightly, and on January 28, 1943 he was seriously wounded.
Since April 18, 1945, he was a shooter of the 990th Infantry Regiment of the 230th Infantry Stalin Division of the 5th Shock Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . He distinguished himself during the assault on Berlin [3] .
On April 30, 1945, during street battles in Berlin, he scouted ways to approach the plant’s workshop located on Alt-Jacobstrasse , after which he led a group there that broke into the workshop and knocked out the enemy from there. During the battle in the workshop, he personally destroyed several German soldiers and captured a machine gun . When the group commander, Lieutenant V. I. Shaburov , was wounded, he replaced him and successfully led the group until the workshop was released [3] .
On May 8, 1945, Red Army soldier P.I. Kashutin was introduced to the title of Hero of the Soviet Union . At the time of submission to the title of Hero - non-partisan.
After the war was demobilized. He lived in the village of Nikolskaya Pestravka (now the city of Nikolsk in the Penza region ), worked as a chef in the dining room.
He died suddenly in 1954 [3] .
Awards
- By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the “exemplary performance of command missions and courage and heroism in battles with the German invaders”, Red Army Prokhor Kashutin was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 7790 [4] .

Memory
- In Nikolsk, a bust of P. I. Kashutin was established [3] .
- A monument to P.I. Kashutin was erected in the Dalnekubasovsky school park.
