Khodkevich, Yuri

Representative of the Lithuanian magnate Khodkevich family of the coat of arms “ Khodkevich ”, the third (youngest) son of the governor of Novogrudok, Alexander Ivanovich Khodkevich ( 1457 - 1549 ) and Princess Vasilisa Yaroslavna Golovchinsky (d. 1552 ). The elder brothers are the great Lithuanian hetman Grigory Khodkevich (d. 1572 ) and the Vilnius cousin Jerome Hodkevich (c. 1500 - 1561 )

After the death of his father ( 1549 ), Jerzy Aleksandrovich Khodkevich inherited part of the patrimonial possessions. In the same year, he received the post of stolnik the great Lithuanian, in 1555 it is mentioned in the rank of great Lithuanian kravch. Yuri Alexandrovich Khodkevich, together with his brothers Grigory and Jerome and nephew Jan Jeronimovich (c. 1537 - 1579 ) formed a political and economic alliance, which was in opposition to the Radziwills and the royal power. He was twice married. Until 1555, he married Eugenia Ermine (d. 1557 ) with his first marriage, from whom he had a son and daughter:

In 1558, he remarried to Princess Sophia Slutskaya (d. 1571 ), daughter of Prince Yuri Semenovich Slutsky ( 1492 - 1542 ) and Elena Radziwill (d. 1546 ). Children:
