Museum of Polish Weapons ( Polish. Muzeum Oręża Polskiego ) is a museum located in Kolobrzeg , West Pomeranian Voivodeship , Poland . The museum is listed in the State Register of Museums . The main building of the museum is located in the Braunschweig Palace on Craiova Army Street, Building 13. There is also a complex of buildings at ul. Gerchak, 5.

History

The museum was founded in 1963. Initially, the weapons collection was located on Gerchak Street next to the historical building of the 15th century.

Description

The main collection of the museum is located in a complex of buildings on Gerchak Street. In this department in various buildings medieval peaks, chain mail, catapults, pole arms and firearms are demonstrated. The marine exposition displays museum materials, among which are various naval weapons and items related to navigation. There are museum items associated with Polish uprisings of the XVIII-XIX centuries.

In the branch on Gerchak Street there are various types of weapons and uniforms of Polish soldiers during the First and Second World Wars. In the open air cars, planes, armored vehicles and artillery weapons are exhibited.

In the former Braunschweig palace on Craiova Army Street there are permanent exhibitions “Kolobrzeg History” and “Metrological Collection”.
