The Red Book of the Ryazan Region is an official document containing an annotated list of rare and endangered animals, plants and fungi of the Ryazan Region , information on their status and distribution, as well as the necessary measures for protection. Established by Resolution of the Head of the Administration of the Ryazan Region No. 203 of April 16, 2001 [1] [2] . The first regional edition was released in 2001 (volume dedicated to animals) [3] and 2002 (mushrooms and plants) [4] .

Edition
The second edition of the Red Book of the Ryazan Region was published in 2011 and includes 24 species of mammals, 82 - birds, 2 - reptiles, 1 - amphibians, 2 - cyclostomes, 11 - bony fish, 9 - mollusks, 7 - arachnids, 14 of these, 45 are Hymenoptera , 6 are Lepidoptera , 8 are ferns, 3 are Paw-shaped (281 species of animals in total), 12 are Moss-like, 21 are Mushrooms, 22 are Lichens [4] .
