Ivan Ivan Pankov ( April 13, 1902 - January 4, 1972 ) - engineer, Soviet leader in heavy industry , one of the first directors of the Savyolovsky Machine-Building Plant .

Biography
Born on April 13, 1902 in the village of Privetino ( Tver province , Kalyazinsky district ).
In 1927 he graduated from the Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers . He worked at various plants of the USSR , including: Voroshilovgrad steam locomotive plant , Stalingrad Tractor Plant [1] .
In 1929 he was sent on a business trip to the United States of America to study the achievements of this country in the field of automotive industry. In 1930, he returned to the country, continued to work at the Savelovsky Machine-Building Plant ( “SMZ” ) [2] .
With the outbreak of war, the plant was evacuated to the rear, located in different cities - in Omsk , Samara , Kazan . In 1943, Pankov became the chief engineer of the SMZ.
After the war, the plant returned to the city of Kimry . In April 1946, Pankov became the director of the plant, in this position he worked for 21 years. He paid great attention to the development of the village of Savyolovo , which became part of the city of Kimry. In 1957, the building of the Savyolovsky College was built, on October 31 of the same year, a magnificent palace of culture was opened. A residential area was built, as well as many facilities for recreation and treatment of plant workers: a dispensary, a hospital complex, and clinics. The plant worked closely with Moscow enterprises, was noted by A. N. Tupolev . Wide production was launched, the territory of the plant was expanded many times. The plant became the largest engineering company in the Kalinin region .
I. A. Pankov became a delegate to the 19th Congress of the CPSU .
Pankov died on January 4, 1972 in the city of Kimry .

Memory
- In the house number 4 on the Communist street of Kimry, where Pankov lived, a memorial plaque was installed.
- In the city of Kimry , one of the city libraries, the Center for the Development of Creativity of Children and Youth, is also named after Pankov.
