The Red Book of the Khabarovsk Territory (3rd edition) is an annotated list of rare and endangered animals, plants and mushrooms of the Khabarovsk Territory . Edition
The first edition of the Red Book of the Khabarovsk Territory was released in 1999 in accordance with the Law on Environmental Protection of the Russian Federation and Resolution of the Head of the Administration of the Khabarovsk Territory No. 3224 of June 7, 1995. [2] The second edition of the Red Book of the Khabarovsk Territory was released in 2000 due to the need to make changes and additions. The publication included a description of 149 plant species and 123 animal species. [3]
The third edition of the Red Book of the Khabarovsk Territory was released in 2008. The circulation amounted to 2000 copies. [4] [5] The Red Book of the Khabarovsk Territory is an official publication intended for both specialists and a wide range of readers.
In this publication, the assessment of the status of species and populations is carried out by categories combining both the categories of the Red Book of the Russian Federation and the categories of the International Union for Conservation of Nature , which are correlated as follows:

The publication presents a list of rare and endangered animals and plants of the Khabarovsk Territory, which includes 159 species of animals (30 - invertebrates, 11 - fish, 8 - amphibians and reptiles, 81 - birds, 29 - terrestrial and marine mammals), 294 species plants (238 - angiosperms, 3 - gymnosperms, 24 - fern-shaped, 2 - plauiform, 7 - bryophytes, 20 - lichens) and 16 species of mushrooms. For each species, illustrations, a distribution map are given, the status and category of rarities are determined, a brief description, information on the number and necessary protection measures are given.
